Musings about Birdbirds
Being the Habitat
Ghandi advised us to “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” This woman is wearing a nest on her head and providing safe shelter for these bluebirds. She is being the habitat that life needs to flourish. In this way she is actively joining the natural ecosystem these birds need to thrive. Both this woman with her nest-crown and the birds emerge from a scintillating background of pattern, not unlike the unseen molecular fabric that comprises the formative forces of the world. Early last year, I saw a Gustav Klimt exhibit in NYC and loved the way his subjects emerged out of pattern. I can see his influence in this work.
